COUNTYWIDE : Official Documents Available by Phone
- Share via
Birth, death and marriage certificates can be ordered via touch-tone phone thanks to a new service provided by the county recorder, officials announced Tuesday.
Official documents can be ordered by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week by using a phone menu that will direct callers to the service they need and tape information for processing, said Bill Pierce, a spokesman for the county clerk/recorder office.
The callers pay for the service by punching in their credit card number, Pierce said. There is a $4.50 processing fee in addition to standard document charges of $12 for birth and marriage certificates, and $8 for death certificates, he said.
Documents will be mailed within one business day, Pierce said.
The round-the-clock service also answers other questions on documentation in English and Spanish, Pierce said.
