Diamond Bar : Hearing on General Plan
After a line-by-line re-evaluation of the city’s proposed General Plan, the General Plan Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing tonight before presenting its revisions to the Planning Commission.
The residents group, which initially drafted the plan in 1989, was instructed to re-evaluate it in November after City Council members found some comments inserted by consultants incompatible with the city’s goals.
As a result of its review, the committee rejected proposals to create a road through Tonner Canyon, to widen Grand Avenue, to consider commercial development of the Diamond Bar Golf Course and to allow commercial development of the triangle bounded by the Pomona (60) and Orange (57) freeways and Brea Canyon Road.
The hearing will be at 7 p.m. at the South Coast Air Quality Management District Building, Room CC-2, 21865 E. Copley Drive, Diamond Bar.
