School officials have begun the search for a new principal at Sonora High School to replace Ken Strichter, who has accepted a job as assistant superintendent for business for the school district.
The Fullerton Joint Union High School District, which includes Sonora High, has advertised the job in a journal that circulates among educators statewide.
The deadline for applications is May 4.
Applicants will be screened and interviewed by a panel of students, parents and staff before recommendations are made to the district administration.
The Board of Trustees will receive a final recommendation possibly at the May 18 meeting.
Strichter will serve out the school year at the high school. A new principal is expected to assume the job July 1.
