Bloodletting

The depth of the political sickness in the U.S. can be seen when journalists refer to hundreds of thousands of blue- and white-collar workers losing their jobs (and leaving families destitute) as “downsizing,” and the reshuffling of some top GM executives to slightly less mega-salaries as “bloodletting.” CEOs are not gods; rather they are the greedy devils who have wrought most of our current mess.
