Photo Contest--The Amigos de Bolsa Chica is now accepting entries for their annual photo contest.
Photos can be of birds or habitat; the only requirement is that they be taken at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.
The photos must be large prints or 35-millimeter slides.
Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded. The deadline for entries is July 31.

Nursery Nature Walks--Sea View Park in Laguna Niguel is hosting a slow-paced nature walk geared for parents with young children on Saturday. Trained docents will lead the activity-filled walk, which will begin at 10 a.m.
The tour is free but donations are accepted. The park is at Talavera Drive and Antibes. For more information, call (714) 643-1444.
Children’s Program--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim will sponsor a children’s nature program Saturday entitled “Incredible Insects.”
The program will be from 1 to 3 p.m. It is free and open to children ages 5 to 8 years old and their parents.
