Roses and Lemon Awards Given

A Super Rose was awarded to 777 Tower at Citicorp Plaza for its architecture and a Very Sour Lemon award went to ALARM (A Local and Regional Monitor) for its “myopic anti-growth mentality,” at the Downtown Breakfast Club’s 12th annual Roses and Lemon ceremonies.

Rose awards were given to 811 Wilshire for its “outstanding renovation,” and to Weingart Center for its “superior civic/private commitment” in its work to restore homeless people to productive citizens,

The Fountain by Eric Orr at Sanwa Bank Building won in the public art category and the Union Station cleanup by Catellus Development Corp, return of Angel’s Flight and Homeless Outreach were recognized as “good ideas.”
