PLACENTIA : School Board Will Hold Hearing Today

The Board of Education for the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. today to examine the district’s budget picture before announcing final staff and program cuts May 12.
The district is considering ways to close its multimillion-dollar deficit as mandated by state law. In March, it sent out 108 layoff notices to faculty, administrators and counselors and plans to make deep cuts in several programs.
