Help Sought for Riot Victims

Simi Valley residents can donate food and supplies to the victims of the Los Angeles riots through an effort coordinated by Ventura County Supervisor Vicky Howard.
Howard said donations may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at her office at 3855-F Alamo St. in Simi Valley. Residents are asked to bring non-perishable food, clothing and household supplies.
She started the collection because several Simi Valley residents have called her to say they want to provide assistance to people in South Los Angeles, Howard said.
The Simi Valley Salvation Army will coordinate efforts to deliver the donations to Los Angeles sites, Howard said. For more information, call 582-8010.
