In UCLA’s final game-type scrimmage of spring practice on “Fan Appreciation Day,” quarterback Wayne Cook, a redshirt sophomore, completed 13 of 18 passes for 100 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
Cook is the heir apparent to the position left vacant when Tommy Maddox, first-round draft choice of the Denver Broncos, left UCLA after his sophomore season.
Inside linebacker Arnold Ale participated in the first two weeks of practice, then had bone chips removed from his left ankle. He is expected to be healthy in the fall.
