BE Avionics Now BE Aerospace Inc.
SANTA ANA — BE Avionics Inc. has changed its name to BE Aerospace Inc. to reflect its recent acquisitions in the aircraft seat and interior manufacturing business.
The company, which makes a variety of equipment for airliner interiors, such as seats and passenger entertainment systems, retroactively changed its fiscal year to close at the end of February.
BE Aerospace acquired two aircraft seat makers, PTC Aerospace Inc. and Aircraft Products Co., in February. For the seven months ended Feb. 29, BE Aerospace reported a loss of $1.7 million, equal to 18 cents per share, contrasted with earnings of $4.7 million, or 65 cents per share.
Revenue for the period was $12.2 million, down 50% from $24.3 million a year earlier. Results from the newly acquired companies are not included in the seven-month period ending Feb. 29.
