Public Memorial Set for Singer Mary Wells

A public memorial service for recording star Mary Wells is scheduled Thursday at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, in the Hall of Liberty. Miss Wells, who recorded such hits as “My Guy,” died Sunday at the USC’s Kenneth Norris Jr. Cancer Center after a long bout with throat cancer. She was 49.
