Green Light: And in San Francisco, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Court of Appeals spelled out good news for Vanna White. The judges ruled that the “Wheel of Fortune” letter-turner may proceed with a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics America over an advertisement she said illegally impersonated her with a robot-like mannequin. A judge in Los Angeles earlier had dismissed the 1988 lawsuit. The appeals court rejected Samsung’s argument that the ad campaign was a parody of “Wheel of Fortune” and White and should be a protected form of free speech.
