‘Simpsons’ Actors Win Six Emmys
The Emmy Awards are a month away, but the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said Thursday that six actors from “The Simpsons” had been voted Emmys in the new category of outstanding voice-over performance.
The winners included the four performers who supply the Simpsons’voices: Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Julie Kavner (Marge), Nancy Cartwright (Bart) and Yeardley Smith (Lisa).
Also awarded Emmys for their guest appearances on the Fox series were Jackie Mason (a rabbi) and Marcia Wallace (Bart’s teacher).
The voice-over category is one of several of what the academy calls “juried” awards, which are selected by peer-group panels and are announced prior to the regular awards presentations, which will take place Aug. 29 and 30.
