Nisei Week
This year marks the 52nd anniversary of Nisei Week, a festival to honor the cultural heritage of the Nisei, who are second-generation Japanese-Americans. the weeklong festival begins Saturday and will be celebrated with exhibits, sport events and a carnival in Little Tokyo. One of the highlights will be a parade at 3 p.m. Sunday featuring dancing, music and floats. Events, many of them free, will continue through Aug. 9.
