Ventura’s Wright Falls in Junior Golf
Chad Wright of Ventura was eliminated by Troy Lashley of Salt Lake City, 4 and 3, in the second round of match play of the U.S. Junior Amateur championship at Milton, Mass.
Wright defeated Will Garner of Augusta, Ga., 3 and 1, in the first round on the 6,693-yard Wollaston Golf Club, which boasts a par-71 layout.
Wright finished fourth in stroke play, which concluded Wednesday, with a 149, six shots behind the leader, Tiger Woods of Cypress.
Woods advanced to today’s action with match-play victories over Brian Bombard of Rochester, N.Y., and Nick Malinowski of Dallas.
