The Harvey Girls (Cinemax Monday at 9:30 a.m.) Directed by George Sidney in 1946, this is one of the most delightful Golden Era MGM musicals and stars Judy Garland as a Fred Harvey waitress out West at the turn of the century; the local saloon entertainer is a young Angela Lansbury.
The Man Who Knew Too Much (ABC Tuesday at 1 a.m.) This 1934 Alfred Hitchcock thriller is that rarity, an original not as good as its remake, which Hitchcock also directed. Even so, it’s pretty exciting and famous for its suspenseful Royal Albert Hall sequence.
Underworld, U.S.A. (TNT Thursday at 9 a.m.) Gritty 1961 Samuel Fuller movie about a son (Cliff Robertson) determined to avenge his father’s death at the hands of the Mob. Memorable film noir performances by Beatrice Kay and Robert Emhardt.
