A Royal Assignment: British actress Miriam Margolyes, in Los Angeles to star in the fall CBS comedy series “Frannie’s Turn,” is moonlighting for the BBC while she’s here. Margolyes is supplying all the voices and the narration for “The Queen and I,” a satirical radio series in which she portrays most of the British Royal Family, including Princess Diana, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth. John Tydeman, BBC Radio’s head of drama, came to Los Angeles to direct the series. He says it’s unusual for the BBC to go overseas to produce a program like this, but since Margolyes, known as a master of accent and dialect, “wasn’t available in London due to her American television series, we came to her.” Meanwhile, “Frannie’s Turn” previews Sunday at 8 p.m. before settling into its regular Saturday time slot Sept. 19 at 8 p.m.
