Two elementary school children found a woman’s body Monday morning in a field in Lancaster, a sheriff’s deputy said.
“The two kids were walking through a vacant field when they discovered a woman’s body fully clad,” said Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Weber.
Homicide detectives were sent to the 1300 block of West Avenue J after the body’s discovery at about 8 a.m., Weber said.
He said the woman, believed to be Latina and about 19 years old, was killed with some type of blow to the head.
Investigators are trying to determine the woman’s identity and the cause of death.
