Convention Center

When the Bonaventure Hotel claimed bankruptcy protection it cited the delays in Convention Center construction as a principal reason for its troubles.

An underlying presumption for the new Convention Center was a resulting increase in demand for current hotel rooms. But now we’re told that the Convention Center, which was to help make hotels successful, needs its own hotel in order for it to make money.

There are thousands of usually empty hotel rooms within short shuttle trips to the Convention Center site.
