More holiday specials will highlight this weekend’s television viewing, starting with tonight’s lineup of CBS’ “Disney’s Christmas Fantasy on Ice,” 8 p.m. (2)(8) and NBC’s “Bob Hope Christmas Special,” at 8 p.m., “Christmas in Washington,” at 9 p.m. and “Saturday Night Live: Christmas Past,” at 11:30 p.m. (4)(36)(39).
On Sunday, Bob Newhart is the host of “Holiday Greetings From the Ed Sullivan Show,” a two-hour retrospective that combines old clips with new performances. Vintage material spotlights Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. New segments include Johnny Mathis, Paul Anka and Della Reese, 9 p.m. (2)(8).
For family fun on Sunday, Showtime will air “The Night Before Christmas,” narrated by Meryl Streep at 5:30 p.m., and Nickelodeon will show “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas” at 8 p.m.
