Now in her second season with the team, Foster has a squad filled with experienced players. But in the early going, they haven’t worked well as a unit. “We haven’t come together yet,” Foster said. “We are not playing well as a team. I’m looking for us to improve as we go along.” She’s also looking to point guard Shima and Murray for big efforts. “(Shima) shows a lot of leadership off the court. Hopefully, she’ll do it on the floor, too,” Foster said. “(Murray) will definitely be an impact player.” Two others who will be counted on to make the Argonauts competitive are Werdel--”She does so many things well,” Foster said--and Lutz, the team’s tallest player along with newcomer Patterson. The lack of height, in fact, will force Foster to employ a motion offense with lots of picks to create good shots. At the other end of the court, Foster said the Argonauts will be effective. “We should be very strong defensively,” she said. “That’s what I like to put the emphasis on.”
