Firm Dropping Effort to Dun the Air Force: The Department of Justice said it has “convinced” General Dynamics to abandon its efforts to dun the Air Force for $3.4 million in attorneys fees spent in unsuccessfully contesting a federal environmental lawsuit. General Dynamics settled charges last year that it violated the Clean Air Act at its Ft. Worth aircraft plant, and agreed to pay its own legal fees. But the firm then tried to pass on the attorneys fees to the Pentagon through overhead billings until the Justice Department intervened.
