Arcadia : Hearing on Developer Fees
Developers will have to pay more to build residential housing if the Board of Education votes to increase fees for new construction.
The board will hold a public hearing Jan. 12 on whether the school district should raise developer fees from $1.65 per square foot to $2.65 per square foot for residential buildings. The district is allowed to assess the fees under a state law.
The fee increase would generate an estimated additional $125,000 a year to pay for new school buildings, said Earl Davis, assistant superintendent for business services. About $250,000 was raised from developer fees in 1992.
The hearing will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room at district headquarters, 234 Campus Drive, Arcadia.
