When players move up a level, such as from high school to community college, they are often asked to change positions. Such was the case for Rehwoldt, who despite being 5 feet 5, was a post player at El Toro High School.
At Saddleback last season, Rehwoldt was switched to guard by Coach Jack Single. But because Saddleback returned only a few players this season, she has been asked to fill in at every spot on the floor.
So depending on the situation, she has played forward, post and both guard spots in the same game this season.
She scored 23 points, had 14 rebounds and seven assists as Saddleback split two games last week.
Other top performers:
Colleen Hatch, who was nine of 11 from the field and scored 20 points in Orange Coast’s 85-75 loss to Golden West.
Joan Maurer, who had 35 points and 12 assists in two games for Cypress, which beat Rancho Santiago, 63-49, and lost to Riverside, 67-53.
