Schools and Racism
It is unfortunate but probably true that there is unspoken racism behind both the Roberti proposal and the LEARN Project for breaking up the Los Angeles school district.
While our school population and school staffs are increasingly people of color, there is no reason that the district cannot continue to provide the quality education that it has for many years. Any improvements that are introduced should qualify on merit, not on the separation of ethnic groups.
