Sings Like a Dove: Steven Curtis Chapman was the big winner Thursday evening at the Gospel Music Assn.’s Dove Awards. Chapman won artist of the year as well as five other honors, including songwriter and contemporary album of the year for “Great Adventure.” Michael English was chosen top male vocalist and Twila Paris won best female vocalist, succeeding Sandi Patti, who had received the honor 11 straight times. Winners were chosen by 3,000 members of the Gospel Assn.
