Burning Van Snarls Traffic

NORFOLK, Va. — A van caught fire in a tunnel, forcing motorists to leave their cars and scramble on foot to flee the smoke, authorities said. More than 100 vehicles were temporarily abandoned inside the 1 1/2-mile Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel on Monday when the burning van snarled traffic. No serious injuries were reported.
