Film: A little-known New York-based production company has secured the film, TV and home video rights to the classic children’s mystery and adventure book series “The Bobbsey Twins,” from book publisher Simon & Schuster. New York Production Partners, headed by former TV journalist Martin Schwartz, until now has made mostly in-house films for such clients as Bank of New York and Citicorp. “The Bobbsey Twins” is the company’s first feature film project. Schwartz says he has lined up financing and is now looking for a writer and studio to distribute the film. He hopes to eventually spin off a TV series and merchandising rights.
