Norwalk-La Mirada : School Board OKs Busing Policy for Middle Schools
- Share via
Students who live at least 2 miles from school will be eligible to ride a bus to and from the six new middle schools in Norwalk and La Mirada, the school board has decided. Trustees approved the busing policy by a 6-0 vote.
For the first time this fall, the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District will have middle schools, which serve students in sixth through eighth grades. Previously, students had attended elementary school through seventh grade, then moved on to high school.
The walking distance will remain 2.5 miles for high school students and 1.1 miles for elementary students. Riding a bus is free for eligible students.
