Clippers’ Image Is Fine With Them
In response to Scott Howard-Cooper’s article regarding the Clippers’ poor image (July 25), those of us at Widney High School feel that the Clippers should not be judged solely by their errors or the won-lost column. What the franchise does to improve the surrounding community needs to be taken into consideration.
In this area, the Clippers are a model organization.
Widney High is an inner-city school serving students with severe disabilities. In the fall of 1991, the Clippers became partners with Widney in the L.A. Unified School Adopt-a-School program and they immediately began to make positive contributions to our school.
The next time your staff goes to the Sports Arena to take in a game, please be reminded of the contributions the Clippers have made to the city and to our school. It makes them an important asset to the community and champions of our hearts.
