Crews Work to Contain Fuel Spill

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Firefighters and city public works crews worked through the day Tuesday to contain a spill of about 55 gallons of diesel fuel in the Westminster Flood Control Channel, fire officials said.
The spill was first spotted near the intersection of Edinger Avenue and Graham Street. Crews then used booms at Edinger and Saybrook Lane to block the spill from Huntington Harbour. While the blocked fuel was evaporating, officials said, the incoming tide kept the remainder out of the harbor.
