Halfway through “Weekend Escape: Half Moon Bay” (Oct. 17), I was appalled to read, “So we finished our wine, changed clothes, and headed back into the fog for the 10-minute drive up the highway.” Your staff writer and her husband are lucky to be alive after taking such a risk--driving, in dense fog no less!, after drinking. Too many people lose their lives because of such foolishness. Their actions were downright senseless; that they got through editing and ended up in print is unacceptable.
