DFG Plans to Double Program
Trout fishing in the city is on the upswing, thanks to the Department of Fish and Game’s expanded Urban Lakes Program.
Citing a positive public response to the program it started last year, the DFG plans to nearly double the number of urban lakes in Los Angeles and Orange counties to be regularly stocked with catchable trout in 1994.
On the list for this year are Echo Park Lake near downtown Los Angeles, Balboa Park Lake in the San Fernando Valley, Alondra Park Lake in Torrance, Cerritos Park Lake, Kenneth Hahn Park Lake in Baldwin Hills, La Mirada Park Lake, Magic Lake in Willowbrook, Lincoln Park Lake in Lincoln Hills, Centennial Park Lake in Santa Ana and Tri-City Park Lake in Placentia.
