SANTA ANA — An 18-year-old man died Thursday night from injuries he suffered in a drive-by shooting that police said was gang-related.
Benjamin Silva Torivio of Santa Ana died at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, said Police Sgt. Dick Faust. Police have no suspects in the shooting, which is being investigated as gang-related, Faust said.
Torivio and a friend were walking on East Vance Street on Wednesday when a small truck passed them, police said. A short distance away, the truck stopped and a passenger got out and fired a handgun three times in the direction of Torivio and his friend, police said. One of the shots hit Torivio in the head.
