11 Tibetan Nuns Jailed, Group Says

BEIJING — Eleven Tibetan Buddhist nuns have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from two to seven years, apparently for attempting a protest, Amnesty International said Friday.
The international human rights group said the nuns, arrested June 14, were taken to Drapchi prison outside Lhasa, which holds Tibet’s most serious political prisoners.
