BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Santa Ana Valley Beats Foothill, Sets School Record for Victories

Michael Riggins scored 28 points, 12 on three-pointers, as No. 4-ranked Santa Ana Valley set a school record for boys’ basketball victories in a season with a 75-52 victory over Foothill in a Century League game Friday at Santa Ana Valley.
Darnell Adamson had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Olujimi Mann added 17 points and 12 assists for Santa Ana Valley (21-3, 7-1).
John Brittingham had 16 points and Erick Williams added 12 points for Foothill (9-15, 3-5).
In other Century League games:
Orange 67, Villa Park 54--Senior forward Pat Harris led third-ranked Orange with 16 points and eight rebounds. Jason Krauss had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers (20-2, 8-0). Chip Bernards had a game-high 26 points with five three-pointers for Villa Park (3-18, 0-8).
In the Express League:
Huntington Beach Claremont 65, Bethel Baptist 40--Steve Kimble had 32 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists and Derick Simpson added 11 points to lead Huntington Beach Claremont (6-9, 3-9).
In the Garden Grove League:
Bolsa Grande 59, Los Amigos 39--Tuan Pham scored 21 points for host Bolsa Grande (12-10, 8-4).
Kennedy 54, Rancho Alamitos 46--Rich Anderson scored 14 points for visiting Kennedy (16-7, 6-6). Manny Metcalf scored 12 points for Rancho Alamitos (5-15, 3-9) before fouling out with five seconds left.
Pacifica 67, La Quinta 58--Jon Surface scored 21 points and Chris Vlasic added 14 for host Pacifica (21-1, 12-0). Kevin Doane scored 16 points for La Quinta (13-10, 7-5).
Santiago 68, Garden Grove 62--Raymond Tecson and Rodney Elcock each scored 17 points for Santiago. Tim Denk had a game-high 19 points for Garden Grove.
In the Olympic League:
Cerritos Valley Christian 52, Capistrano Valley Christian 44--Steve DeGraaf scored 16 points for Cerritos Valley Christian (10-11, 7-3). Jeff Jennings scored 10 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (3-18, 1-8).
Ontario Christian 75, Orange Lutheran 73 (OT)--Kyle Salyer’s base-line jumper at the buzzer sent the game into overtime and Armen Bagatourian’s three three-pointers in overtime kept Orange Lutheran within striking distance before falling. Bagatourian finished with 17 points, Tom Howard added 15 points, including three three-pointers and Ryan Taube had 10 for Orange Lutheran.
Whittier Christian 54, Calvary Chapel 41--Tyler Ream scored 15 points to lead Whittier Christian (18-3, 8-1).
In the Orange League:
Anaheim 51, Valencia 49--Frank Castillo hit a 17-foot jumper with four seconds to go to win it for Anaheim, knocking Valencia out of first place. Castillo had a game-high 23 points and Rocky Whipple added 11 points to lead Anaheim (6-16, 2-6).
Junior Alatorre scored 15 points and Erik Jackley added 14 for Valencia (12-10, 6-2).
Magnolia 61, Western 41--Frank Henderson and Shawn Scott scored 15 points each for Magnolia (17-6, 7-1). Paul Lindemeyer scored 16 points for host Western (11-12, 2-6).
