COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Fullerton Wrestlers Top San Francisco State
Cal State Fullerton won seven of 10 matches, led by Chris Abrego’s pin at 177 pounds, to defeat San Francisco State, 28-12, Friday in nonconference wrestling.
Jeff Maes (126), Farzin Daneshnia (134), Kenny Workman (142), Christian Holiday (158), Laszlo Molnar (167) and Dwayne Buth (190) won for the Titans (4-4).
In the Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball:
Azusa Pacific 104, Southern California College 84--Raymond Tutt had 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead Azusa Pacific (21-3, 6-1). Eric Carmichael scored 23 points for SCC (11-12, 2-5).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Concordia 103, Patten 64--Vujadin Jovic had eight points and nine rebounds for Concordia (15-8).
UC San Diego 92, Chapman 80--Greg Reynolds scored 23 points for Chapman (13-7).
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:
Azusa Pacific 73, Southern California College 70--Jessica Opfar scored 22 points for Azusa Pacific (16-7, 4-2). Jamie Zitterkopf led all scorers with 28 points for SCC (17-6, 3-3), which was ahead, 38-35, at halftime.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Chapman 107, Pacific Christian 38--Heidi Sorour scored 21 points for host Chapman (4-16).
