Freeway Widening Open House Is Today

Open houses dealing with the widening of the Santa Ana Freeway through areas of North County have been scheduled this week and in April by Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority.
The first one will be held at 6 tonight at the Buena Park Recreation and Community Center, 8150 Knott Ave.
Ultimate design and right-of-way maps for the freeway widening starting half a mile north of La Palma Avenue to Beach Boulevard will be displayed, and a 12-minute video also will be available. Staff from the California Department of Transportation will be on hand.
The second open house will be at 6 p.m. April 28 at Anaheim’s City Hall West, 201 S. Anaheim Blvd. Widening segments to be discussed include the one from Broadway to Crescent Avenue, and Crescent Avenue to half a mile north of Haster Street.
In addition, a hot line has been created to handle reports of problems with vacated properties along the rights of way. The number is (714) 756-7639.
