Undying Beauty
The wildfires have been quelled. Last autumn, they scorched the canyons and neighborhoods of Laguna Beach, threatening the seaside community’s idyllic beauty. But Laguna Beach survives. It is a place deeply committed to preserving and protecting nature, freedom and art. The spirit of the community is evoked in the ocean, crashing to shore around rocky tide pools and on smooth beaches. It’s in the hikers who share trails with nature, and the families who thrive in hillside homes. It’s in the sun that dissolves behind Catalina Island.
Perhaps Laguna Beach is a place that can singed but not destroyed. Maybe with its serenity and simplicity, it is a magical place, one that exists in the timeless peace we knew better as children.
