Pope’s Release From Hospital Is Expected

VATICAN CITY — Pope John Paul II, who had an artificial thighbone implanted after breaking his leg last month, will probably be discharged from the hospital by Friday or Saturday, the Vatican’s chief spokesman said.
Joaquin Navarro told Vatican Radio that the Pope, who will be 74 next week, was feeling fine and walks a little every day with the help of two canes.
