Five County Surfers Make Quarterfinals

San Clemente’s Shane Beschen, who posted the highest heat totals (23.50) at the Body Glove Bud Surf Tour Event at Huntington Beach, is one of five Orange County surfers to advance to today’s quarterfinals.

He also had the highest individual wave score (8.83).

Also qualifying were Laguna Beach’s Jeff Booth, who posted the third-highest heat total (20.94) and third-highest wave score (8.17), Pat O’Connell (Laguna Niguel), who is surfing with stitches in his foot, Jay Larson (Huntington Beach) and Donovan Frankenreiter (Mission Viejo).
