FULLERTON : Council Approves No-Parking Zones
- Share via
The City Council this week designated portions of several streets as no-parking zones to ease crowding on city streets.
Beginning next month, parking will be prohibited on a 500-foot stretch of Valencia Drive--250 feet east and 250 feet west of Basque Avenue--at all hours. Also, no parking will be allowed on the east side of Casa Blanca Drive, south of Barris Drive. Parking on Short Street, between Commonwealth and Amerige avenues, will not be allowed for more than two hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
After the city installs parking-restriction signs, anyone who parks on the prohibited streets will receive citations, officials said.
Parking is already restricted on most city streets between 2 and 5 a.m., when street sweeping is done. People are allowed to park overnight on some streets, however.
The council took action this week to add Hansen Avenue, between Santa Ysabel and Santa Fe avenues, to the list of the few streets where motorists are allowed to park whenever they want.
