Countywide : Middle-School Math Teachers, Take Heed
Middle-school math teachers can apply for a yearlong professional development course sponsored by public television to train teachers in implementation of the state’s new curriculum.
Twenty-five teachers from Orange, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Riverside and San Bernardino counties will be selected to participate in the program. National teleconferences will enable participating teachers to exchange ideas throughout the nation.
KCET/Channel 28 is one of 20 public television stations around the country to offer the MATHLINE Middle School Math Project, which was developed in cooperation with the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics.
“We strongly believe that this project supports mathematics reform and employs technology wisely as another avenue for professional growth,” KCET Vice President David Crippens said.
Applications are due Tuesday. Information: (213) 953-5237.
