One School Bus Tragedy is Too Many

My letter is in regard to the little boy who was hit by a pickup truck when crossing the street after getting off the bus. I am a bus driver and I feel that a lot of people do not use safety precautions when they see a school bus. Any time you pass a school bus, please use caution and please try to slow down and also stop when you see the red lights flash. I can’t count how many times people have run my red lights.
I am a mother and I really feel sorry for this parent who lost her child, but I am also a bus driver who cares about my children who ride on my bus. So, please, at all times use extreme caution when passing a school bus.
