MGM Grand Air, which has focused mainly on first-class charter service, will begin scheduled commercial service between New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas on Sept. 8.
Company officials said the idea is to link America’s two largest cities with Las Vegas, the nation’s fastest growing market.
There will be two round-trip flights between LAX and JFK daily, except Saturdays and on Thursday and Sunday, one flight that makes a loop from LAX to Las Vegas to New York and back.
MGM Grand Air will specialize in what it calls “Grand Class” commercial service--featuring fine food, sleeping accommodations, stand-up bars and an array of business services--with prices to match. The one-way fare to New York is $1,423; to Las Vegas, $182.
