Cleveland High has named Jim Mills co-coach of the baseball team.
Mills, who last season was an assistant at Chaminade, will work with Steve Landress, the team’s coach the past three seasons.
Mills, a walk-on coach who is self-employed, isn’t exactly an unknown quantity at Cleveland. He is a football assistant for the Cavaliers and an alumnus of the school.
“He’s knowledgeable in the sport and he’s a good disciplinarian,” said Everett Macy, Cleveland’s athletic director. “He’ll really be good for the program, a definite asset.”
Cleveland finished 3-20 last spring and was last in the North Valley League at 2-15. The Cavaliers were 6-14-1, 5-12 in 1993.
