HACIENDA HEIGHTS : Priest Booked in Alleged Sexual Attack on Man, 18
A Roman Catholic priest who surrendered to Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives was booked on suspicion of sexual battery and released on $25,000 bail Friday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Terence Joseph Farrell of St. John Vianney Catholic Church is scheduled to be arraigned next week, said sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear.
An 18-year-old man told detectives that Farrell tried to molest him Aug. 25 in the church rectory at 1345 S. Turnbull Canyon Road, Spear said.
“Investigators are continuing their investigation in an effort to identify possible unreported victims in this community, as well as the priest’s former parish, located in Northridge,” Spear said.
