Man on Lifeguard Tower Shot in Arm

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A Huntington Beach man was shot in the arm early Thursday by a gunman while chatting with a friend on a beach lifeguard tower, police said.
Michael Gross, 31, was listed in serious condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange, said Officer Michael H. Corcoran.
Gross was sitting on the tower, talking with Linda Anguiano, 27, of Anaheim at 5 a.m. Thursday when a man about 50 feet away fired and hit Gross once, police said.
The suspect, whom the victim did not recognize, fled on foot, possibly with two others, Corcoran said.
