Oxnard Station Puts Christianity on the Air

KDAR has been broadcasting “the truth of the Bible” for 20 years.
The small 24-hour Christian station in Oxnard(98.3 FM) has decreased its music programming to about an hour a day and features mostly information and talk shows.
During the week, all its programs are either syndicated or taped, including “Bible Answer Man,” “Focus on the Family” and “Insight on Living.”
KDAR broadcasts its only live show on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. “Hot Topics” is produced and hosted by Chris Maguire and Al Pacheco of Ventura. They buy the air time and sell advertising themselves, although they often wind up losing money, Maguire says.
