The Money Store Investment Corp. has opened an office in Oxnard’s Financial Plaza. The unit will offer Small Business Administration-guaranteed loans to companies in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
The nationwide Money Store chain says it issued $319 million in SBA-backed loans in 1993. Long-term financing of up to $2.5 million is available for real estate purchases, construction, equipment and other purposes.
David Mellman, formerly a loan officer with company’s Encino office, has been named to head the Ventura operation. Before joining the Money Store, he was a bond underwriter for Reliance Surety Co., serving contractors and developers in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
